This homemade chili oil goes with pretty much anything you want and it adds extra flavor and color. Try it with my Tofu & Mushroom dumplings 🥟 and you will never eat dumplings without it!!
Chili-Garlic OilCourse: Sides, SaucesCuisine: Asian
10 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
1 1/2 tbsp chili powder
1/4 cup chili flakes
1 tsp salt
1 cup oil
- Mix up chili flakes, chili powder and salt in a heatproof bowl. You will be pouring hot oil into it, so it MUST be able to withstand the heat.
- In a saucepan on a medium to low heat, add sliced garlic into the oil and bring it to a simmer until garlic is golden brown about 7-8 minutes.
- Strain the hot oil into the mixture of spices. Be careful because it will bubble.
- Stir gently and let it cool before enjoying.
