This easy-to-make broccoli garlic sauce pasta is so flavorful, your family will beg for seconds. Pasta smothered in a Garlic Sauce with herbs and lots of broccoli with hint of lemon zest!!
This recipe comes together fast and makes a delicious and comforting meatless meal and one of my go-to’s!! Great for a quick and easy and it doesn’t really require a lot of ingredients. This dish doesn’t take long to prepare, and I use the shortcut of cooking the broccoli with the pasta.
I make this pasta and broccoli recipe at least twice a month when I need a quick and comforting meal I know everyone will enjoy. Start to finish dinner is on the table in 15 minutes – a dinner time win!!
Garlic Sauce Pasta with BroccoliCourse: MainCuisine: Italian
2 cups dry pasta of your choice
2 cups broccoli florets
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
12 cloves garlic, thinly sliced or minced
1 tbsp red pepper flakes
2 tsp lemon zest
1/2 tsp Italian seasonings
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
1/2 cup heavy cream or half and half
1 tbsp butter (optional)
- Place a large pot on the stove and bring to a rolling boil. Once boiling, add salt and pasta. Cook pasta according to package directions. Add broccoli to the same pot when pasta has 4 minutes to cook. Drain pasta & broccoli and reserve 1/2 cup of pasta cooking water.
- While pasta is boiling, add oil to the skillet, once hot add garlic sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Lower the heat and add chili flakes, lemon zest, italian seasoning and fresh herbs; cook for a minute.
- Pour in reserved pasta cooking liquid, butter(optional), salt and black pepper. Let it simmer for a minute.
- Add cooked pasta and broccoli to the pan and toss with garlic sauce. Turn off the heat and add cream and sprinkle in parmesan cheese, while stirring continuously. Garnish with more fresh herbs & cheese and ENJOY!!
